Galaxy going after Manchester United midfielder as DP3

Manchester United's Anderson is LA Galaxy's top priority

     Via 2.bp.blogspot.com

After a tumultuous couple of months of missed Designated Player signings, the Galaxy are back at it. After failing to land Frank Lampard and Gio Dos Santos, MLS Transfers has learned that the Galaxy front office are ready to make a splash loan signing for Manchester United midfielder, Anderson.

After speaking with multiple sources, it seems that the Galaxy are looking to offer the midfielder a loan spell that would end in December, with an option to buy the player if he fits the clubs long term needs.

Anderson has only played 23 league games the past 2 season with the historic club and a source says he's "desperate for playing time". With United looking into signing Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, his playing time may dwindle even more.

No formal contact between the player and LA front office have been made but a source says Technical Director Jovan Kirovski has made a call about Anderson to an unidentified member of the Manchester United technical staff.

Anderson is valued at $9 million, which would make it the highest transfer for a player going into MLS so deciding on a fee could be a stumbling block a source says.

The source also stated, "Although Anderson loves the club, he needs to move. A loan spell in LA might be the trick to help David Moyes see his true potential. Moyes values MLS as he's taken Landon Donovan under his wing at Everton and thinks highly of Tim Cahill and Thierry Henry. He'd probably be one of the few managers at a high level club okay with the the idea of a Manchester United player on loan in MLS."

Stayed tuned folks.

Rumor Round-Up July 14, 2013

Here's the latest rumors throughout MLS:

Canadian de Jong impresses MLS sides:

26 year old Marcel de Jong is turning heads with his performances at the Gold Cup. Although Canada has been eliminated from the competition, a source says a few MLS sides are interested in the defender/midfielders services. Marcel is currently with German Bundesliga side Augsburg and his market value is listed at 1.1 million Euros, making it seem unlikely for a team to nab him unless they want him to be a Designated Player.

Agudelo drawing more interest:

Although the young American player has gone on training stints with Stuttgart, Liverpool and Celtic in the past few years, he has yet to step foot in a professional game for a European team. And that might stay par for the course as MLS Transfers has learned that Argentinean side Rosario Central are looking into drawing the player to South America to further his development. At only 20 years old, could this be the move that could really help Agudelo to his European dreams?

Houston ready to pounce on Brentford striker:

Source says the Dynamo are ready to send a bid to English club Brentford for forward Clayton Donaldson. Donaldson scored 24 goals for the club last season and is apparently looking for a move to a bigger club. Interest was first reported by Sky Sports.

Tim Cahill to...Moscow?:

We'll keep the strangest news for last as a source from Russia contacted us to let us know that a possible January loan move to Dynamo Moscow could be in the works for the New York Red Bulls midfielder. Luke Wilshire, a fellow Australian international who plays for Dynamo Moscow has apparently suggested to head coach Dan Petrescu to take a look at the 33 year-old midfielder in the winter transfer window. Petrescu, who surely knows of Cahill, as he played in England from 1994-2002, could be keen on making a move as Cahill has stated that he would a consider a loan to keep in shape for the 2014 World Cup. More news on this front as we get closer to the winter.

Other rumors:

Multiple outlets have reported Jonathan Bornstein might be heading to Chvias USA. We have spoken to a contact close to the situation and they had no comment on the situation.

So what do we think about a possible Agudelo move, or a new Dynamo forward? Let us know in the comments below.

The 29 year-old is currently on trial with Birmingham City while they look to see if he could fit in at the club. If Birmingham City passes, San Jose will try their hardest to lure in the Northern Ireland international.

Philly Rescind Offer to Flamini

Reported by us last week, it seems as if now the Union are pulling back the bid. A source says the club is looking for targets more in the clubs price range. The source said the Union presented a 18 month, $4 million contract to the player but had not responded back in the short amount of time it was offered.

Quick Hits

- Forlan to TFC or not? Our sources say he is still the leading candidate and have talked to Forlan over the    past three weeks but other options are lined up as well. If not Forlan, another big DP could be on their way over.

Saer Sene gaining interest from multiple French sides, German team

New England Revolution forward keeps scoring as he waits for offers from clubs

As reported earlier this week by Brian O'Connell, 26 year old Saer Sene has been getting calls overseas about a possible transfer back home in France.

Sochaux FC and Stade Rennais FC of Ligue 1 have made inquiries about the player but MLS Transfers has learned that German team, VfL Bochum are also close to the situation as well. A scout for Bochum had seen Sene play back when he was plying his trade for the Bayern Munich reserves and has recommended to the coaching staff to take a look at him. Coaches have seen tape of Sene at Bayern and New England and have been impressed. The source said an offer might be in the works, depending on other internal needs at the club.

While no offers have come in for Sene yet, you can bet New England could cash in on him. If Sene departs, there is a possibility of the Revolution stepping up and taking a flyer on David Trezeguet, who reportedly has offers in Argentina and Mexico.

Should the Revs keep Sene or cash in on him? Comment below to let us know how you feel.

Summer Window starts....NOW July 6 Rumor Round-up

Transfer Season Kicks into High Gear with MLS teams vying for Top Prospects, Proven Veterans

As the MLS season round into July, more teams are in need of that player or two that could bring them over the top and eventually MLS champions. Throughout the next month, MLS Transfers Blog will be citing all transfers, rumors and training stints. Here is this weekends Rumor Round-Up:

Forlan Update:

A source with close ties to the situation contacted MLS Transfers on June 12th about the possibility of Diego Forlan heading to Toronto. After finding out more, (and subtlety added here by Steven Goff ) we can confirm that TFC have been in contact with Diego and his agent about the possibility of a move to the Canadian side. Goff seems to think a multi-year, multi-million dollar deal will take place and sources close to the situation have confirmed that he should become one of the top three highest paid players in the league.

Trezeguet, Again?:

While it seems Trezeguet might end up at Rosario Central or Liga MX next season, it seems the New England Revolution are looking at a late bid to entice him to the Boston region. A source contacted MLS Transfers on July 6th and spoke on the subject.

"The Revs are aware of the interest down south but are seriously considering an offer if Trezeguet turns them all down."

More details to come on this matter.

Red Bulls Have Some Competition:

Empire of Soccer reported that the Red Bulls are targeting Paul Connelly, a rightback formerly of Leeds United. Looks like they'll have competition for the signing. A source says League One side Leyton Orient F.C. are looking to Connelly to help them for their promotion push into The Championship, the second division in England. Connelly played on loan last season at Portsmouth and Preston North End, making 19 appearances combined for both sides.

More Rumors:

- Drogba to MLS  is in the cards, reports Brian Lewis of the New York Post.

So what do you Revs and Toronto fans think? Hope these forward rumors come to fruition? Hope Connelly doesn't come to MLS? Excited at the prospect of Drogba? Leave comments below and let us know!
